Variety reports that Walt Disney Animation Studios has ceased development on huge, a big screen adaptation of the classic fairytale "Jack and the Beanstalk" set to hit theaters on November 25, 2020. LeFauve, of course, was part of the initial writing team for Marvel Studios' Captain Marvel;however, she had to leave the project in order to focus her attention on big.

The feature, titled enormous, would have flipped the script on the classic fairy tale to tell the story of Jack befriending a female giant.

Ed Catmull, acting president of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, issued a statement addressing the decision to drop the project, explaining that the movie "just isn't working". Yet, this is exactly what has happened with huge, ex-Giants, the new film from Nathan Greno, director of the excellent Rapunzel.

No details yet on which film will take Gigantic's place in the lineup, though the report notes that it is another original feature.

Apparently the studio got to the point where the creative process has hit a wall and they are "ending active development for now".

As far as plot details are concerned, huge was to be set in Spain during the Age of Exploration, with the story centering around Jack as he uncovers a world of giants hiding within the clouds. "Frozen" songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez were on board to write the music for the film with husband-wife singing one of the songs at the event.

Enormous was to release in 2020, only a year after Frozen 2's slated release on November 27, 2019.
